Rajasthan occupies 10.4 percent of the total geographical area of India. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest state by population. It is in the northwestern part of India, where it includes most of the vast and inhospitable Thar Desert (also known as the Great Indian Desert) and shares a border with the Pakistani province of Punjab. Rajasthan state means “The Land of Kings For Wondering”. The majority of the population in Rajasthan follows Hinduism. Other important cities of Rajasthan are Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Jaipur and Udaipur.
